    Help & Info please

I bought a H&M mono hull complete of Ebay last year ... just got around to running it !

Now Its equipped witha Neu 1515/1 D/S, Hydra 120, Octura x445 and powered with2 20c 3700 MAH 2S1P setup as a saddle pack! It really flies - I believe Darin raced against this one!

When I brought it in after 4 or 5 minutes the batteries were at around 105, the esc around the same but the motor was up between 145 & 155!

My question is - are the motor temps a concern? The batteries are poly quest although I do have some elite 25c 4800 's I can run! If I drop down to a smaller prop will the motor temp drop? If so any recommendation on size!

If you look in my Gallery the boat I'm talking about is the ones with the flames on it!

The temp is correct for a 4-5 minute run, but that is a long run. Over time these temps will degrade your magnets. I recomend keeping your temps under 130 for longer motor life.

Try an m445. Your temps should be lower with this prop and speeds should be comparable.

That's too big a prop for that motor combo... We run X440/3 or Y537/3, or even X437/3 on ours... especially if you are running it for that long... That's a hot motor for a "sport" setup (I define "sport" as anything that is run more than 2-minutes or 1-mile...)

From my experience, my boat actually got FASTER going down to the smaller diameter props mentioned above when used in my 25.5" Delta Force... Handled better too...

Thanks Darin, this is a boat you ran against ! Its the prop that came with it but I was more than a little concerned with motor temps!

That's not a bad prop... but it won't work on there for a 4-5 minute stint without getting the motor warm... That boat is setup to run for 5/8mile... about 1:30 total runtime... maybe 1-mile max...

If it doesn't have one, I would install one of Steve's water cooling jackets... I've been using them and they definately allow you to run a more aggressive setup... within reason.

I'd get the Y537/3 and the X440/3... The 440/3 is good for other boats as well... Well.. actually... they both can be, but you get what I mean...

                Let the fun begin!
