Need New ESC for Q-Hydro - Help & Recommendations

I recent blew my Turnigy 240 speed controller in my Q-Hydro and am looking for recommendations on a replacement.

Additional Info.
- Blazer Sport 40
- TP-4070 (1650Kv) / Turnigy 240
- 2P (Revolectrix 4400mAh 6S LiPO - 60C)

What prop are you trying to turn with that high kv?

A Castle XL-2 Modded for water works.

I was running an X648 but last week the eagle tree said I was only drawing 140amps peak

Castle XL2 water cooled and water proofed work really well, MGM28026 lite is a great esc but a little bit expensive.

Fellow club members have had good luck in their Q Sport Hydros with the "HobbyWing-180" version 2. Don't know about the current v3. Steer clear of Swordfish ESCs, almost every one used in our club (over ten) has failed soon after purchase. I use Castle 200 amp aircraft ESCs modified with water cooling. Very reliable if kept dry.

Really!? I've got one around new. What motors can it handle, a HET 1170kv 98mm can like mine?

I run a Neu 1527/1Y on 6S in my sport hydro no problem, very fast and has lasted three years so far. I use the old ICE 200Lite but the current EDGE controllers are the same. Your radio will need the ability to set low throttle and throttle trims, all Spektrums and some/all Futabas work.

I run one in my SAW hydro on 8S pulling over 250 amps. I do add a few caps for SAW use.
