    changing connectors - do you just cut and solder?

    I have a newb question.

    I just bought a Voracity 36 with (2) 3S 11.1v Dynamite Reaction packs (EC5 connectors).

    If I bought another set of batteries that didn't have EC5 connectors do I just cut the older
    connectors off and solder them using EC5 connectors?

    Since I have these expensive packs I feel like I'm stuck with EC5. Do you think it's better that
    I change any future packs to EC5, or is it better to change the connections on the boat
    to bullet 5mm?

    I also read that silver solder is recommended, along with castle brand connectors. Is that correct?

    EC5 connectors have 5mm bullets. There are lots of soldering tutorials on youtube. Castle 6.5mm connectors would be better than ec5

      Thanks.

      Regarding my setup, is it best to leave the boat EC5 (motor and ESC) and modify the battery packs to EC5?

      or

      Is it better to get rid of the EC5 on the boat and change them to bullet connectors so I can buy bullet packs?

      ==

      I'm just looking for some opinions since I already own the EC5 battery packs.

      If the EC5 connectors have 5mm bullets is there anything to do with them other than remove the plastic EC5 housing if I wanted 5mm bullet?

      It seems like a lot of people run 5.5mm bullet, any big difference from a 5mm?

        If your gunna run individual bullets without a housing you could switch everything to 5.5mm bullets thats all I use on my boats/batts. Castle 6.5mm connectors would even be nicer. Just less resistance the bigger the bullet
