High quality self righting 25-30" options?

    Hi all,

I'm looking for a high quality alternative to the Aquacraft Recoil 26.. a all-purpose "beater", but no abs plastic.

Must be self-righting, quality aluminum hardware, water-cooled inrunner/esc, solid construction.. not known for mounts pulling out, cracking, etc.

I have a Leopard 4074-2150 that I'd like to use (3s/4s) if the right hull/hardware is found.

ARTR/RTR is not required, but I'd rather not buy it piece-by-piece either...

    Ideas?

As mentioned theirs the 32" Pursuit self righter, it all depends on how much you want to spend though. You say you want high quality then take a look at Toysport boats, their certainly not cheap but are made to the highest quality & very strong. They have the Toysport Syncron 29" self righter at $580 for the boat complete with hardware. This does not include motor or any electronics, they are available from www.rcchief.com.

It sounds like a Naviga type Mono2 would be good for you, there is a bunch of very high quality efficient running hulls from Europe and Asia, most some are only available as hulls, some as hulls or full RTR, and some from cottage industries that will build a hull for you and fit it out to any stage you like. All are self righting or can be made to self right. All are at least made from epoxy glass, some with carbon reinforcing, and most with options for full or half exotic composites like carbon, Kevlar, or carbon/Kevlar. Most are stepped for efficiency, though that means they won't be eligible for Mono classes in America, I think they would be legal for offshore classes, but you would have to check as I am not sure if they have a semi scale requirement and if so whether it is more stringent than ours.

Toysport in Hungary make the Syncron or Triton pretty old designs at this point, but Joseph will build to any stage you want using his own hardware, and I think there are stepped and unstepped versions too.
Rasch in Germany make the Essenz or Q Essenz which are great winged stepped boats, Randolph will Build to any stage you want with his own hardware.
Dr. Psycho Team in Germany make the Alien XL, a bizarre looking but very effective boat with an adjustable or removable step, Ralph is not always in production, but will (sometimes) build wityh his own hardware to any stage you want.
ETTI in Hong Kong make the Vertigo and the Exiga, but while faster in calm weather the Exiga has a tendency to dive for the bottom when it is not flat, so I would recommend the vertigo, despite being in china ETTI's moulding quality is top notch. Mostly they just sell hulls, own hardware available separately, but they ocasionaly do an ARTR.
Tenshock in China were selling their own design Tomahawk which is a good traditional looking stepped mono, but have recently started building Rasch Essenz's under licence. From what I have seen the quality is good but not quite up to the ones Randolph makes, but then neither is the price, and in the USA, it might be easier to buy from China. Hull only, own hardware available separately.
Hydro&Marine in Germany make the Speedman a great and fairly scale looking stepped Mono, Hull only, own hardware available separately

There's also the Arowana from R/C Build. It's not a stepped hull. And it's Vinylester, so not what you would call high quality. They have one a bit smaller too.
I don't know what the flood chamber is like on that one.

But I used to have a standard hull for years running with an old 3674 8xl, & the same size motor you have.
Here it is with the little 8xl motor & a single 4s pack.
See the danger. THEN DO IT ANYWAY!!!

Not really high quality, needs some mods, and reinforcements, but looks like fun. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZlG7DYkObYE

Im not sure whether TFL hobby released the self righting in the end, they showed the boat on this forum a while back to gauge any interest. But it seamed most racers in the USA were not keen on self righting boats to be allowed to race in their classes. Not sure if TFL Hobby pursued the self righting Pursuit, easiest way is to contact TFL, Monica from TFL also gets on this forum from time to time so you could contact her.
