MMEU Michigan Cup wrap up.

My sons and I would like to say thanks to the MMEU club for running such an great event. except for a gas retrieval boat giving them some grief, everything went off smoothly. Thanks a bunch.

The location is awsome. The elks club had super nice facilities. Clean bathrooms, air conditioning in the bar and main room. The course was well laid out which made racing on it super fun.

I always come out of a rc boating race knowing more than I came in with. It's no different this year. Most times I learn some new trick. This year it was a bit different. Although Ken Haines had all his boats stolen, so many people stepped up to help him try to get some racing in during the weekend. People offered him everything he could have needed. Unfortunately Ken's heart wasn't in it(understandably so) but his son did get some race time. I learned that we Rc boat racers may be a bunch of super competitive blowhards on the forums and Facebook, but have the biggest hearts when face to face.

The boys and I are already working on strategy on how to take lane one away from Mike Pags, so I hope to see all of you next year including Ken Haines

Steve, these guys make us look like amateurs where organization is concerned. They don't kiss our butts as much as Cup race but it's a well oiled machine. I actually get to have a clear thought without hearing "hey Tom or hey Terry" too.

I registered for the Can Am yesterday and as I'm looking at the date today I realize that the 6th is my daughter Nina's birthday and we have already made plans for a Yankee game that day so I can't make it. Terry, Tom and the rest of the MMEU group, as always yoose guys put on a great show. I love this race, the facility and this group of guys. I'm so bummed for Ken not only did he lose his stuff but 10 years of testing, tuning and tweaking, it's hard to imagine. I went to my local offroad track yesterday and the guys there had even heard about it. Ken and I are really good friends and talk all the time, he was so excited for this race and he was so prepared. I missed competing against him. Allthough it was a great race there was just an overall sad feeling throughout the whole weekend.

We did have some fun though, Hanging out with the Vaccaro crew was great, and I always learn a new trick or way to fix something from Larry!!!! My buddy Tom came to his first big boat race and he had a good time. Him and I have been racing RC cars and flying planes together for almost 30 years, and we've traveled all over the country and internationally to race cars. I got him into the boats last year and he loves it. He even got his wife and 7 year old daughter and 5 year old son racing boats too!! I had a blast racing Tyler and watching him grow and mature over the years, he has become a great racer and a blast to hang out with. Terry Tom and Ty gongrats on the cup win, although I won High Pts and Tom Offshore I would trade both for "The Cup"

And By the way I loved whooping up on those BIG 60" cats with my lil old 35" sprintcat................here kitty kitty!!!! that was lots of fun racing Howard and Tom.

hey Pags normally Id say to sell those Yankee tickets and come down, but with the way they are playing this year they arnt worth the paper they are printed on. ;-)

Man, it killed me to miss this race, but I've had other priorities as most of you know. It was good to see a few of you guys Thursday night, but I missed Mr. Vaccaro!! Next year for sure!!
