    supervee 27 overhaul?

    hello
so i have the supervee 27 and I think its got the 1750kv blue motor stock well I have had for about month or so and enjoyed all the moments but the esc went bad and I have been using 2-2s lipos 5000mah 40c and that helped alot with a 42-55 grim racer 2 blade prop for speed but never recorded the mph. Anyways after esc went I ordered a hobbywing seaking 120amp esc but Im wondering what motor yall suggest that would be faster then mine on 4s and would be insane on 5/6s if I ever could make it stable enough to do so. Im not sure if I need to go with higher kv large length can size or what? If I could do 50mph I think id be happy. Any suggestions on motor that someone has maybe used before that was greatly approved over the stock blue 1750kv?
    Thanks

I have a similar sized boat with my Shockwave 26. Over the winter I switched to the Aquacraft 2030KV motor that is in the UL-1. I am running 4s and a Turnigy 120 amp esc. I started with a 40mm plastic propeller and was happy with the speed over the 1500KV motor I had previously. I have been data logging this setup, and so far have seen a max amp rating of 86 amps. That's the reason I chose the 120 amp version, I am running about 30,000 rpms under load which is a good all around range. 5-6s might be a handful on that Supervee Hull, but I have seen youtube videos of it being done.

Here is my build log, page 2 starts the current setup:

    Video of the 40mm prop:

I haven't GPS recorded the speed, I would say low to mid 30's, but I have many props to sharpen and test this summer.

This was the previous 1500kv motor on 4s, probably a 42-45mm plastic prop as well.

thanks for reply ,so do u think the 2030kv would be big improvement over my stock 1750kv in my supervee 27 non r? I did order the seaking 120amp so maybe ill try 5s on my stock motor if it will handle it. If i had the money id just do a different boat but I like the boat, just needs adjustable trim tabs and maybe anouther turnfin on other side. If i could do about 50mph id be happy. Im worried if I did go big motor for 5 or even crazy for this boat 6s it wouldnt ever be able to run flatout

Couple questions, is the 42x55 prop sharpened and balanced? Why did the stock ESC fail?

If money is a concern, don't worry about running 5s and 6s, concentrate first on getting the boat dialed in and picking a motor that will work with the ESC.

My uncle has a Supervee 27, and we did add the port side turn fin, that helped a lot.
In my opinion his rudder water cooling setup doesn't flow much water. I much prefer two cooling pickups, one for ESC and one for the motor.

There are a lot of good threads on this boat:

If you are chasing speed I might invest in an inlay to strengthen the hull, a tumble at 50 could send you to the bottom real quick.

so not sure what made esc burn up but i did get the seaking 120amp and ordered a dynamite 2200kv so even on 4s it should be more speed. Thats quick boat u did video . Hope those dynamite motors are okay cause Ive always used cordova motors,
neu motors from steve neu and poseidon rc motors for my rc cars for speed runs. Only dynamite I had was stock in my sons losi xxl2e monster truck

I would not hope for, or even shoot for 50mph with this hull. Even with the water like glass, this small shallow vee hull gets fidgety above 40mph. I have the first edition SV, and I too lost the ESC.
Replaced it with the same amp ProBoat ESC, and swapped the motor with an AMMO 2300kv, it was fast but too unpredictable to be fun.
