    Under Attack

    Seems we are under attack by the bots. They seem to have figured out how to get around the image verification process. Sorry for all the crap!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I have done a few things to combat this.

    1st. I locked down new registrations. No new registrations for 1-2 days.

    2nd. I changed the registration process to now make it that I personally have to approve a new member.

    3rd. I will be deleting most of the new members from today. I hope no real people get caught up in this. If so, please re apply in 2 days.

    Again sorry for all these junk posts today.

        Thanks Steve. Send me a pm if you want the skinny on Project Honey Pot. Of course, that's only if you have more difficulty than what you can handle yourself, but it seems you have everything under control.

        Just a question, how do you validate a referral? You may want to review that process as well if it is not the same. My thought is, there may be an account that was setup by a human, then run bots from. I haven't looked to see how you do that, so it may be a mute point.

        In any case, we appreciate your time to take care of all of the users here and promote the free exchange of thoughts and ideas (even for us newbies).

          If it happens again I will definitely be in touch.

          I have only used the email verification process until now. I will couple that with manually validating each account. So a new user will first have to click the email link to validate the email address, than I will be sent a message that a user is awaiting final validation.

          Good point about the "real" user and the bots. I will look into that.

            Wot bots

            Hi Steven;
            GRRRRR. Why do people do this stuff.
            I have a "send for info" form on my web site and I receive emailed filled out forms and it is all garbage, makes no sense at all. There is even a link to a web address and it is gibberish. They are coming more frequently.
            I have no idea what the point of it is.
            Good luck;

              I always wonder the same thing. I get a ton of emails in Russian each day. Not sure why but this is ridiculous.

              On a different note, I checked out your site.
              This is a very cool boat.

              Any video or interior pictures of it?

                Challanger Twin Jet

                Hi Steven;
                Thanks for the compliment. That boat is a blast to run in the white water on the local river, when the flow is high enough to make good white water.
                I have two vids on You tube here are links to them.

                You will notice my shirt changes color. This is two separate days.
                The boat is running 2 Monster Madness 19 turn 550 brushed motors on 8cells, 4700mAh.
                My driving isn't that bad ! Honest ! The radio was glitching badly. I wouldn't run it up on the shore like that even to show that I could do it, without damage.
                Enjoy

                  Good stuff Viking! Thanks for the video link. There are some other cool jet boats that are out there. I didn't realize so many people were into them.

                    Jet Boats

                    Hi Steven;
                    Sorry it took me so long to get back to you.
                    I can't figure out how to put photos on a private message.
                    I even gave the " Insert Image" a http. address and that didn't work.
                    So.
                    Here is a link to 3 photos of the interior of my twin jet, and a couple of phots of Graupner Jets.
                    I had to make a transfer page on my web site to do it.

                    Try that.
