Offshore Electrics last minute bid to make it to the Michigan cup.

like most of you guys with everything going on in life its tough getting to races. But when your now 20 and 18 year olds boys still ask to go, it's time to try to make it happen. This thread will either be our road to success or failure.

Best of luck to you and the boys Steven. Most importantly, have fun!

      these guys grew up fast.

Now 18 and 20, these two saw their first race in Wisconson, hosted by Doug Robichaud (Drobie on the Rum Runner Racing Forum). Doug hosted a great race and treated the boys like they were his own. Great guy, god rest his sole!

First on the bench is the Toys Port Syncron. My most favorite boat. This boat is literal 13 plus years old and still no sign of wear. Its seen 2 or 3 speedos go boom and still kicking. Last time I ran this it was in p mono and ran a 2 pole Feigao motor. This time the purple Feigao 2 pole is out and a ProBoat 1500kv motor in its place for the spec class.

        Thanks Danny

Will be nice to see you Steve. I think the last time was 2006? You ran one boat in a bazillion classes.

It will be nice to meet up again.

That was my Synchron. I placed 2nd in p mono. It's no first place, Alan took the first but was fun working the boat into about 6 classes.

Working on the Df26. Needed a mount for the castlecreations hydra 120. It runs great but if it gets a bit of water inside it glitches. So I wanted to lift it a tad. I could have bought one of those fact carbon fiber mounts from Offshore Electrics (sorry shameless plug), but I'm cheap and wanted a light weight mount. So I cut the bottom from a plastic cup.

                      Steve,

Did you get my email? I can give you the 240's back at the Michigan race. I really thought I would be able to get the 300 light in time.

My son is relentless with these boats these days. He wants to build this, try that, swap this motor into that boat, what if we put the propshop 1450/3 instead of the X455 on boat x,y,z. Exhausting. I am grateful though. At 16 he hasn't learned to hate me yet. Who knows, maybe he'll keep racing like Doug Jr. did as his dad got older. Just yesterday his aunt asked him about the race. "You gonna win?" He said "It's not a bout that. It's about having fun".

Don't get me wrong. Winning still matters otherwise why race but first and fore most these events are about guys that own and play with toy boats getting together to play, laugh, and have some fun. That annoys some people but those guys need to put up or shut up. If all race, all serious, compete compete compete will bring people to your pond then do it to it. The cup's our show and we make the rules. Rule #1.............................have fun.

If you have kids that race or are even interested in it.....bring em out. We'll get em good and hooked. It's a much easier sell to the wife when you race with your kids.

"Hunny.......canIgotoMichiganforalongweekendofraci ngifItakethelunaticsoutofthehousewithme? Youcouldmaybesleepfor2daysstraightwithouthearing mom....mom....mom....mom...mommmmm! Where did you put my shoes?"

Run all the words together just like that. Confuses them and takes away time for them to think about what your asking. And don't take too long a breath between sentences.
