What PROP SHOULD I START WITH ?? HELP!!

i AM PUTTING TOGETHER AN HK ARIANE 2 - IT HAS A LEOPARD 4092 1450 KV WITH A SEA KING 180- AMP ESC . IT WILL BE POWERED BY TWO 3S BATTS
IN SERIES. i THINK THIS SHOULD GIVE ME ABOUT 32,000 RPM. THE WATER TEMP HERE IS ALREADY AT 80 DEGREES AND CLIMBING. ANY IDEAS ON A
GOOD PROP TO START WITH? I WAS THINKING AN OCTURA X642 OR M445

With that powerplant I think you might be disappointed in run time with 6s in series, maybe 2 minutes or less. That 4092 is capable of 4200 watts. You will probably be pushing close to the max for that ESC ON 6S (4200 watts / 22.2 volts =189 amps) you'll need minimum 40C 5000 mah packs in series to support. I would probably start with an X442 first and work up from there.

I have a 4082 with 1450kv and will be running (2) 6s 3300mah 35C packs in parallel, should be close to 4 minutes runtime. My mono is only 32" long though and a deep-v design.

      Mike.
A 447/3 blade works well on that boat. All depends on how much run time you are after.
I've had it on a 1350kv motor & a 1600kv motor in that boat. It should work well on your 1450kv motor.
Here it is with the 1600kv motor last weekend.

A 42mm prop will be far too small for that large boat to run efficiently. Depending on how you run the boat, Paul's suggestion makes more sense. For safety, you may want to try an x447/2 first. Just keep a close eye on your motor and ESC temperatures.

OK - i WILL HAVE TO TRY AND PICK UP A COUPLE OF LARGER PROPS. i SORT OF THOUGHT THE 642 WOULD BE TOO SMALL MYSELF BUT IT
WAS RECOMMENDED BY A FRIEND WITH A LOT MORE TIME IN BOATS THAN i HAVE = THANK YOU !!

                Mike,

I will have my Ariane 2 with the 1480 motor at the Castaways races tomorrow. Running an Octura M447. Sometimes an ABC 1815-17. Glad that someone else got one.

Put a Neu 1527 1.5D (1500kv) in mine and ran it with a Seaking180V3 and an M445 prop. That combination got around 5 or 6 runs before the caps on the Seaking went up in smoke. Also a little slow with that combination as well. I have SPC 6500Mah 3S batts I put in there and run in series. Runs around 4 min and under I'd say - certainly no more.

Since then I've actually put a SF300A Lite, in there and have been running it without issue on the M445 - but a little slow like I said.

I actually have a 447/3, X646/3, and M447 so I might work through those next.

SO I WILL HAVE TO DO SOME RESEARCH . THANKS FOR THE REPLY/HELP! SUGGESTIONS? SOUNDS LIKE THE SWORD FISH IS WORKING !

Some people consider it shouting by using Capital letters, understandable for the visually challenged. You could use bold as above or a larger font. The font SIZE button is to the left of the "A" and to the right of the font key on the menu bar at the top.

As above it is normally considered to be shouting. Now you have explained it is understandable, but there may be ways for you to see your writing that help you more.

If you are on a PC, holding the Control or Ctrl key and pressing the + or - buttons will alter the size of the text for the whole web page, so you can make not only your writing easier to read, but also everyone else's replies, and even the text on the clicky buttons, it doesn't just work here, it works on most (but not all) web pages. I believe that holding the apple key and hitting the + and - keys does a similar thing for Macs.

If you are on a PC there is also a button or slider in the display settings that will increase all text size to 125% for all your icons, menus, buttons, etc. Which you may find makes using your computer day to day easier. If you tell me what version of windows you have I can tell you how to switch it on.

I definitely didn't mean any disrespect, but I've seen a lot of people that choose to write in colored underlined italics with different fonts. You can tell that many are just for style. What bothers ne is that we are all trying to talk on the same plane/level, then someone comes along and tried to elevate or put themself above everyone else. That's just the way I personally see it.

Capitals are used to emphasize. When the entire statement is capatalized, it throws off the person who's reading. Again, that's just my view.
