To much positive thrust ... 10mph slower?

So i adjust the thrust angle on my hobby king c1 cat to -4 which is pointing the engines upward about 4* i would assume making them close to the transom. The boat was 10mph slower than the 0* setting... What would cause this ? can to much thrust slow it down? too much prop out of the water or something?

Move it back to where you started then go 4 more degrees in other direction. It's all about trying stuff that's half the fun.

4*up is a big jump from 0* what is your drive from the bottom of the sponsons to the strut? Did that height change when you changed the angle? You should try just 1* at a time when looking for a sweet spot and don't change more than 1 thing at a time... I changed my drive angle by 1* on my gas cat and I picked up 6 mph but I give up full throttle into the wind if it is gusting... there is a lot of give and take it setting up a boat for high speeds...
