Your thoughts on this boat, and this power

    y

Really feel the need to cool off my credit card for 2, or 3 months. Have interest free for 6 months, but after that, .
Still, I would like to put the 45" Sniper, and hardware I just bought on the water. All I have laying around for it that ?might? work is a Neu 1527, 2300kv, and a
Fightercat 300amp ESC with dual cooling plates. The Sniper has 2 water pick-ups BTW. I know a boat this size should really have a larger power plant, but that would cost
at least a motor, a mount, AND batteries,-- not now, so says the boss. And she is right of coarse. Do you feel this set-up would work without burning anything up for the time being? Yes I have a temp gun. Also, the largest prop I have is a Prather 230, So I will have to spring, (cookie jar ), for a couple of props for *THIS* set-up, what would you recommend?

Rpm is way too high, you can sell that Neu and pick up a leopard or tp for 160$, probably make some money in the process. Prop a 457 octura would be a good start. Strong lipos needed too.

I'd go with a 56mm can 750-1000kv depending on voltage.

Not sure that I made myself clear. In 3 months time I will have a few hundred dollars saved up, AND my credit card balance paid back down to zero, this would allow me to comfortably spend around $1200, for a
motor, mount, coupler, ESC, batteries, and not break my own financial rules. TILL then, I'd like to see this boat in the water. This motor was going to go in a Titan 34, and will probably. I also know that Brushless55 has this motor in a DF34 on 4S 2P, spinning a 55mm prop, and He loves it! I doubt if the bigger Sniper weighs that much more. Oh sure, I could keep myself entertained for a few months with my other boats, but darn it, I wanna see this one running, if the temps allow. The largest batteries I have are 4S, and I have 8 quality ones. 34000 rpm unloaded is too high? Think I might start off with a smaller prop first.

It would be a interesting set up for sure. I think you might end up with a prop too small to be ideal for the hull in order to keep the amps down but oh well. I ran an x455 on a similar size hull and it worked fine but you may need to go down below 50mm. Also you might even consider running 4s3p if possible to cushion the controller. Good luck!

Sure, it will run on 4S2P....
Will it run well and for how long....unlikely.

Big boats have more resistance on the water, weigh more and require low KV motors running on HV to keep amps reasonably happy.

There is a large difference between a Titan 34 and your Sniper..it will weigh more and all of the LARGER hardware needed will weigh more as well.

Screw the budget for now...get this. its on sale...

And then wait for the rest of the $$ to settle in, otherwise you might very well be spending money on cleaning supplies to get rid of all the mess inside the hull from an inadequate set up.

But what voltage/kv motor were you running?

It was much more suitable to the hull but that isn't relevant to the point I was making. Irregardless of the power supply a hull will need a certain range of prop to run properly. The x455 is pretty much at the bottom end but likely will not be small enough.

Thankz, mind you this is a temporary set-up. I will be using an RX battery, and an Eagletree logger with ALL probes.

If you were running a 455 with a "much more suitable" motor/voltage setup, it is VERY RELEVANT.
