    NZ Nats

    Hi All
We had our NZ Nats over the Saturday and Sunday of easter weekend just been. Only two FE classes, which yours truly took out as well as a second in P3 mono (petrol) and first in C1 mono (nitro) with a borrowed boat that I had first touch in the ten minutes tune up prioir to the heats! Scooped up a third for King of the Nats and Second in Presidents cup for the year. Pretty stoked with doing so well.
    Here's some pics.

It wasn't a huge event with twelve competitors and twelve events, but it still made for two full days of racing, and due to the local weekly rags having articles, one front page we saw the biggest numbers of spectators ever, with over $400 in the donation tin for the our club. There are more pics and possibly some drone footage to come on the Bay of Plenty Model Power Boat Club facebook page and stuff will be posted on the NZMPBA website.

        Well done Pete.
It might have been small this year. But it will be bigger next year, I'm sure.
See the danger. THEN DO IT ANYWAY!!!

Thanks Paul, yep it was small, but it didn't even happen at all last year!
There has been three common feedbacks about our Nat's, Four days is too many (normally all of the Easter break), not at Easter and there are too many classes (that would be petrol!). Cutting the regatta back to two days is what got it happening this year, and good feedback on that too. However we could have had more people enter the classes that were run without impacting time much.
What was great also was that no one went home without at least a place card, for a couple of the guys it was because they were consistent finishing heats not because their boats were the fastest.
