hi folks, new member here. i have dabbled in the gas scene for many years, and, (telling my age a bit) my "last" FE boat was a 24 inch shovelnose with 775 fine design cordite motor, astroflight esc, and 12- 3600 gold peak nimh cells. anywho, aside from still modding some homelites, i tend to stick to my rock crawlers and clodbuster monster trucks.
that said, i did some swapping, and picked this little jewel up...to best of my knowledge (and the internet) this is a 29 inch long (copy) of a skunkworks GEN 1 CAT. power is a castle mamba monster max 1/8 scale 2200KV motor with a water jacket, a turnigy 180A esc, a 3 1/16" flexshaft, out to an octura X438 prop. previous owner had ran it on 4s lipo, and just did not have enough room/water to open it up. i plan on running a 10000 mah 6s pack in it, or a pair of 5000-6000 mah 6s packs for better balance and some extra weight. i have looked at a few pictires of these cats, but, the reear extension on the hull, where the stand-off is mounted looks different, and, there is a bunch of carbon-fiber inlay throughout the center of the hull. i guess that was the builders choice.......
any ideas/input on this set-up? what kind of speeds is it capable of? prop choices? any advice on this boat would be greatly appreciated.....004.jpg005.jpg003.jpg006.jpg007.jpg
