    .062 wire drive ques

Is 9 degrees too much angle for a .062 wire drive that is 8 inches long from 1/8 stub to motor?

I guess I will just try it and see what happens. 9 degrees doesn't seem like much, but there is definitely resistance on the bushing. I don't care about bushing wear, I just don't want it to break.

It is hard to picture what you mean by 9 degress.
If it helps I have 062 wires that drop over 40mm or 1.5" over a distance of 10" in my rigger, cat and hydro.
Wire can take a moderate bend, less is better, and flex takes more of a bend.
I try to get my motor as far forward as possible to get the drive line as relaxed as possible.
Less bend = less drag = more power to the prop = more speed.

One more thing with wire. It does not need to be in a stuff tube for its whole length.
On 3 of my hulls there is an exposed 3" or 75mm length of wire from the end of the hull tube to the begining of the strut.
      See it....find the photos.....sketch it it....build it........with wood

9 degrees over 8" is getting into the "not sure" area, thats why folks are reluctant to give a yes or no. I don't believe it will break or cause trouble but it will be stressed.
