Zonda 41" stock boat on two 3 s packs in series.

Hi . i got a stock zonda v1. i am currently running 4s packs on stock props (40mm) running 120a seaking escs and stock 2075kv motors. After i saw the proboat zelos 36 battery setup i was thinking of making a y harness and run two 3s packs 5000mah in series to power the boat on 6s. I would like to know the opinions..since proboat is 36" boat and zonda is 41" boat but zonda is lighter by 1.3kg compared to proboat. I was wondering whether the boat will become unstable running on this setup since the weight of the two 3s packs will be hardly 700grams..

I run a HPR 45" dual cat, on SSS 4082 2000kv motors with Turnigy 180a ESCs on 47mm props.

Its powered with 2x Turnigy Heavy Duty 3S 5000mAh 60C/12C lipos in series for 6S on each side sponson. I run 8mm bullet connectors, so you don't need a Y-Harness. Just connect a positive from one battery and a negative from the other together. Then connect the remaining positive and negative terminals to the ESC.

Even though I need to use 4 batteries per run, it gives me maximum flexibility with my other boats, which are mostly single cats. In those cases, I run in series x2 3S batteries, one in each sponson. On my single Pursuit mono, I just stack a pair of 3S batteries on the bottom front of the hull for better weight distribution.

In terms of stability, its best on your dual cat to make sure to put the batteries in the sponsons, usually as far forward as reasonable. And keep the ESCs down the center of the boat. In this configuration, it won't matter if you are running 2 larger batteries or 4 smaller ones.

Below is a picture of the original mock-up of my HPR, don't mind the mess with the wiring or the battery bags. I no longer use the bags, I just use Velcro on the bottom of the batteries and stick them right to the bottom of the sponsons, a lot easier to install and remove the batteries now. But this gives you the general idea of where I place my batteries now.

Sorry, just saw your post. I can post more pics, but I don't think HPR has made 41" hulls. All their hulls are 45" and larger, I think .
