? about lipo's and balancers

I have 2 Firefox 2S1P-3700mah lipo's and a Chargery B6+ balancer w/ a CBN-7 board. The balancing plug on the lipo's appears to be a 4S connector. The batteries were bought used and the balancing plugs were wired differently. One had no reaction on the balancer and the other showed up as a 4S battery (I have since changed one so they both show up as 4S). I have tried different configurations and the others just give me a blue led blinking status. I have included a wiring diagram to help to show how things were. Is there a way to get these plugs to work or do I need the 2S plugs? If I need the 2S plugs where can I bet them? All help will be greatly appreciated.

Ok I figured it out. The batteries have Hyperion connectors and the balancer board has align connectors. I have ordered the appropriate adapters.

I received my adapters and this raised a couple of more questions.
Do folks balance only while charging or do you balance before? Also do you check the balance before a run and do so if needed?

I have a hyperion charger with lba10 balancers normally i balance while charging that way it doesn't get too far off then after the charge is complete disconnect the charge leads and let the balancer do its thing which is normally not needed.
