    Boat skipping, not porposing

I have an old Traxxas Villain EX. At full throttle it skips across the water. If i back off just a little it is fine. It is not porpoising and the bow is not high, the boat skips level above the water with only the prop and a tiny part of the hull in the water and it is not hard to control.
If it was porpoising i would lower the props. What will fix this? ( other that a different boat) Thanks; Don

no video. boat rides level but skips across water like if you skip a flat stone. Props stay in the water and boat does not cavitate or slow down. Don

Can you get a video of it running? As it would really help

I've had a couple of smaller boats that once I got to high speeds they would skip. Problem is they were just too light.

Is the water like glass? Is it windy? Have you adjusted your COG? Did you adjust the strut? Are there trim tabs to adjust? All these play on the ride attitude.

no wind, no trim tabs, water smooth, boat villain ex. props are almost all the way down. I did do a crude check on cog and it apears to be near the middle of the boat with the battery's in. There is not much room to adjust cog without adding weight. Don

Adjust prop up a little. You may be causing lift going down.

Thanks for all the ideas. I made a few adjustments. It may be a while before my next run, Ohio is not the best weather for boating. Don
