    might have a problem

Ok just finished the Mini JAE rigger and have the lectrics, but just fitted a 60A esc and cannot figure out where the bats gonna go! the motor is a 3500 KV and can draw 45A but am hearing its better to over-Amp just to be safe, the problem is finding a small enuff bat that will do the job which can be a 2 or 3S anyway looking for suggestions

just noticed something, the esc Im using is a turnigy plush which is 5/8 thick, I noticed thiers a heat sink thats about 3/16 thick so am thinking that could come out, but if I didnt reshrink the esc it would be exposed or can I coat it, if so with what?? I have some black silicon , would that work to coat the ESC??

I put mine forward of that to keep the wire lengths down, turning it round will help with that too, motor leads fore and battery leads aft. I am not seeing the problem, maybe it is the angle of the photo, but it looks like it tucks under the hatch lip rather nicely. If you need more space for battery you could mount it horizontally over the rear boom, and it looks like you could move the servo aft a fair bit.

thanx for the advise, now maybe you or someone can answer the Q of what to coat the ESC in becuzz the shrink wrap is now off and lectrix are exposed, if you see anything else that doesnt look right just say so , as you can see from the above pic, the widest lipo I can squeez in would be 1 1/4 in. so dont know if thiers anything out thier that small that would fit cuzz I need atleast 2S 2200 or 3S 2000 with max width of 1 1/4 in. anyway think were gettin close

Use DP270 epoxy to waterproof the esc

fianally figured out after moving things around it would fit in the transom area next to the servo, I can then maybe sqeeze the lipo in.

Do you have a place for the RX?

There is plenty of cells of that voltage and capacities which will fit 1-1/4", 5s of my redzone 2000mAh is about that.

I mentioned epoxy conformal coatings in the other thread, DP270 is a good example of one.

My RX goes where you have your ESC now, depending on size you could probably put the RX on top of the servo, but I would move the ESC forwards and save a fair chunk of wire weight. If you're only after 2200-2000mAh you have plenty of room behind the rear boom.
