    prop nuts or bullets

does anyone use the bullet ends that go on the end of the prop or do you just use a nut. just wondering as i have a couple of bullet ends but dont know if there is any advantage useing them or if they put the prop out of balance.

I use them with a small lock nut, do not know if they make her any faster but they sure look good, a little bling never hurt anyone. I believe the theory is that it helps with the cone shape of the roost

I have lost 2 new props thanks to the bullet nuts. I don't use them anymore.

In my experience i have never been able to get the bullets tight enough so they always come off usually resulting in a lost prop..........just my dos centavos!!!

thanks for the quick replies. yea like the bling bling factor. was going to put a small split washer on between the prop and bullet to see if that holds on. but i just finished a couple of new props and dont want to loose them

I use a lock nut and some nut retainer and have never had a problem.

A bullet nut could help if you are using totally submerged props. They do not help when using surface piercing props. I use a small lock nut.

Aeromarine sells their bullets with a nut that goes on first. You tighten the nut on the prop and then tighten the bullet on the nut. They are rock solid.
