    What wax for boat hull?

I know there is some diverse opinions as to wax or no wax. For those who wax what wax do you use?
I have used Turtle wax but it seems to come off after 1 run so I am looking for something better. Thanks; Don

P.S. Makes a big difference on a under-powered air boat on my living room rug!

I started using Mr Zoggs 20+ years ago on my skateboards but it also works great on boat hulls. Order it online or pick it up at any surf or skateboard store .

I found out not long ago that the purpose of waxing a surfboard is to increase grip on the top of it, not to make it faster. I asked a guy here one time if he noticed a difference in his surfboard speed if he waxed it. He looked at me silly and wondered what I'm talking about. So I explained to him the wax vs non wax for speed us boaters always debate. He laughed at me. Told me about the grip thing. I felt dumb after I looked it up to verify it. Last boat I wet sanded with 600 grit picked up 3mph. The one before that didn't make any difference. So debatable. I'm not sold either way.

HA HA Growing up around Santa Cruz CA and surfing at a young age I am familiar with waxing surf boards. Yes surf board wax goes on the top. You keep rubbing the bar over the surface until you have at least 1/8 inch thick bumps built up. We used pretty soft stuff because of the (57 degrees) cold water. Yes it's for grip.

Actually saw a full scale cat at the lake with the dimple treatment to the hull on the ride pads. That was a few years ago but basically a golf ball style rear hull.

Wait. What? How deep were the dimples?

Bigger...probably the roundness of a golf ball but obviously not as deep.
