They are run in NAMBA all the time. We just sand off 1/8" from the tips. I run a 1521 1.5d, sf220, D/t x452, 4s2p

This seems odd to me. My Cheetah is exactly 34" long measured by the "box" method. No need to sand off the tips. I suppose this validates the theory that there are multiple molds in use each with slight differences...

Mine is 34" and maybe 1mm over...If someone wants to make a big deal about it..go ahead, just be prepared to produce calibration records for any measuring device they choose to use. And the records had better include temperature compensation over a defined range from a certified calibration company. Also a standardized method of measuring the overall length needs to be defined and documented. Even an 1/8 of an inch is ridiculous to have to "sand off".

I'm interested to see this idea of more then one mold... I have two cheetah fiberglass/Kevlar lined hulls at home and will measure mine to see what they are exactly in length and if they're identical....

I see the ARTR has an inline rudder... what are they guys racing offsets? or do you see a mix of inline and offset.. I was going to do offset on mine, and possibly twins on the other... hmmm.

Looks great though Steve... fantastic real ARTR boat you have there! Sure to be a Hit!

Like all rules enforcement, it is up to the CD. If he uses a cheap ruler and finds the hull over the specified length - disqualification. Ditto with pack voltage limits, drive dog placement, etc. it is all in the purview of the CD. Feel free to protest, don't expect to get to run.

There is no point to having limits if they are not enforced. If a full size Unlimited hydro's fuel restrictor passes too much fuel - no wiggle room = disqualification.

Personally I don't like the length limits, they accomplish little other than restricting entries. But if anyone wants to be certain their boat is legal they should know that they are below the limits. If that means sanding off a few mm, so be it.

I agree that the OSE Cheetah is a great RTR, I sure like mine even if I did have to build it myself.

All very valid points on disqualifications but if a CD decreed a boat for being invalid for being 1 or 2mm over the length rule. I would suggest he take a very, very long look in the mirror. I know that rules are rules but that would be asinine, as any advantage would be minimal, if any. This is not Formula I auto racing...maybe it is

Agreed on a very nice ARTR boat

The ARTR Cheetah is a great step upward for those that want to plug and play. Kudos to those responsible

So as not to infiltrate this new product announcement with a tangential topic, I'm starting a new thread to address the question of just how long the Cheetah really is
