Actually that wiring isn't all that bad. Just keep the wiring as short as practical and MAKE SURE it can't touch the motor. Understand that you do not want to run the boat at part throttle much at all, that just heats up the ESC and can cause a failure. Best to wait and run on a lake which is big enough for WOT most of the time, that or keep your runs to one minute until you can check the heat buildup. Putting around on a big boat's maiden voyage is a common mistake which often leads to eventual ESC failure.
