Ok. I got my first sample in from an eBay seller in China. Fast shipping for sure and I'm impressed with these. Tight and smooth. No slack at all. The only thing is they are nickel plated steel. I think they would corrode after a while. I can powder coat them black. Not bad for $7 shipped for a pair

I don't know if this has been covered here but its really easy to take the slack out of the metal rod ends, you just put a drop of thin CA in the gap between the ball and link and work it around while its setting, you will have a nice tight joint for cheap money and they last like that for ages.
use a metal rod through the joint to move it about while the glue is setting up
we have been doing this on jets for ages and it works like a charm
Ok. Got two more types in. I've found a winner by far. First up is the rc4wd high precision. Junk. Look cool but sloppy. No better than the non high precision. Guess they just wanted them to sound cool. Waste of almost 30 bucks. Ugh.
Now the clear cut winner is some billet rod ends from a company that sells airplane stuff. They only come in 4-40 so I'll have to turn some of my rods down but that's not a big deal and totally worth it. These things are quality. Tight and smooth. $8 each but worth every penny. Be ordering more.
