    SV ESC size?

anyone happen know(and is willing to share) what size(physical) an sv esc is? I'd measure mine but don't wish to take apart the sv to do so. thinking of making a couple of cooling plates. thanks.

No probs rex. The caps extend a bit beyound the 60mm but I didn't add those to the length because you wouldn't be trying to cool those.

well the caps are not usually big heat producers...but when they go, you don't want them enclosed . if I remember...I'll try and take(and post) some pics of the finished product.

i have made cooling plates for my sv esc, made one from brass shim and another from alum, the brass is 4mm thick, and the alum is 6mm thk, i use the standard cool heat sink one side and the cooling plate the other, and find a temp drop of 10 to 15deg f, some heat transfer paste in between them..

I've got the plates made(used 0.8128mm brass plate(0.032"))...just need the esc to install them onto . I figure the esc ought to arrive by wednesday.

installed the esc in my classic shovelnose. after 9.5 laps w/ a 640 prop the esc temp was 75F :)

How did you make the aluminum heat sink. I have thought of trying to make a better heat sink of the Hydra 120.

personally I would use brass or copper and 'simply'* solder the tubes on
*had to use a torch for my plates.

thanks. I thought it turned out nice too . I did wonder if I would need a shoehorn to get the packs in and out though...(not quite, but close)
