    Hk Fun Cruiser Luxury Yacht

Anyone knows anything about this? Is this new?
It has a sub drive prop, I wonder how this will compare to the Princess.

    Here's mine buddy.
They are a Vantex boat & 'Hobbyease' have been selling them for a lot longer than Hobbyking. I bought the silver instead of the white one.

The video looks awesome. Thanks Paul!
How is the rudder mechanism? leak proof? Also does it use a flex cable ? Looks to me that there is a regular drive dog, just want to make use parts are available in general.

            Tim.
            Where to start.
The hobbyease version that I have came with a 2726kv motor & a 445 prop fully submerged & they recommended 3s lipo. Not sure what the hobbyking version is.
That was way too much & it kept picking the back up out of the water & submerging the bow.
I'm now running an 1000kv motor on 2s with a 437mm prop. And it's still too fast really at full throttle, for a scale boat.
The rudder is water proof although I did remove it to grease it & add a small piece of silicone tubing over the stuffing tube to make sure.
The water pickup works fine even at low speed.
The drive shaft is a 5mm flex in the typical Vantex flexible steel wound stuffing tube. The flexible cable is crimped into the stub shaft so you can't remove the flex without removing the strut which emerges through the bottom of the boat with sealant around it. It is a pain to get at the strut bolt inside the boat so I haven't removed mine yet. I just stand the boat on the transom & dribble some light machine oil down the shaft before & after a days running.
I'm not trying to turn you off it. I really enjoy running this boat at our scale club. I think it looks so much better than the Princess., because it doesn't have that horrible surface drive & rooster tail. It's much more scale like with a submerged drive.

Paul, thank you so much! I appreciate all the detailed info.
I too like the sub drive as it presents a more realistic/scale look . I don't mind the maintenance procedure. My concern has more to do with parts' interchangeability , i.e., props for instance. I suppose one really needs a sub drive prop versus the surface piercing prop.
I will look into it a bit more, running 2s is also good with me.

Any of my standard 3/16 bore props fit the shaft & dog. The octura 1.4 pitch series props are good submerged props. the X437 prop I'm running is an Octura.
I run 2 x 2s 5000mah packs in parallel. One on each side of the motor. Balances out well with them there.

Thanks! So far everything sounds good with the exception that I have yet to figure out how to live on board......

I wish I would have known you were looking for a "Live Aboard"
                    I sold mine last year.
I was looking for one last big trip before I let her go.
