Crazy boat: 26" Scarab porpoising (???)

    Hello.

I rebuilt a Robbe Scarab last year, I made a mould of the hull and then made a fiberglass hull out of it. I didn't have a chance to test the boat until last week.

The boat is porpoising / jumping a lot, no trim tabs were installed when I tested it. COG is set at 30% of the hull length (from the transom). Transom to propeller's hub offset is 7% of the hull length. Strut angle is -4ยบ (strut pointing downwards slightly)... I installed trim tabs but didn't have a chance to test if it solves the problem... I think that the boat is too heavy (2,3Kg for a 26" hull).

This is the video of the test (sorry for the music but I found the boat's behaviour so funny...):

Could someone give some clues of what can I do to make it sail without jumping out of the water?

    Regards

Start with 0 degrees on the strut and small ejustments on batteries and it will need trim tabs start a zero make small ejustments one at a time. It might need a tiny bit of positive on the strut but definately trim it one thing at a time. You will find the sweet spot. Keep it up!

Thanks for the advice. I installed the trim tabs and it sails much better... I recorded the following video:
