For those of you who use the Eagle Tree V3 do you leave it in line in your boat all the time? If so does that mean if you have twin drives you need two loggers?
I have the V2 and I plug it between batt and ESC when I want to record, if you have 2 batts each connected to 1 ESC then you need 2 logger to record at the same time! if you have only 1 batt that feed 2 ESC's then you only need one!
I would not leave it in the boat all the time... it generates a lot of resistance/heat. Once you go your setup where you want it, just remove the V3 and go wild.
Yes, 2 ESCs = 2 Data Loggers (ideally).
There is always the "switching over to the other motor" method if you don't feel inclined to spend the money.

If you have 2 batteries powering 2 controllers, you can parallel the batteries, run through one data logger and parallel the controllers. Your Amp readings will be the sum of 2 motors. I ran mine continuously in line in my boat, and did not notice any real degradation in performance. I run 6S at 70A. If you run less cells and more amps, you may start noticing less performance with V3 in line. I also have power panel connected and its great to be able to see max amp draw after every run and makes trying different props safer.
