    Help with Blizzard Hydro

Guys ive got a blizzaed hyro built, and it calls for 6 cells. What i want to do is change to brushless motor and lipos, being im brandnew to electrics, i have no idea what motor or battery, or esc to get with out breaking the bank, I think the hull is a N hydro the tub is 2 and 3/4 wide. so any input would be appreciated.

    Thanks

2s or 3s lipo about 4000 Mah should do. Depending on the battery, you could use either a Feigao L or S can, or a Neu 1506 or 1512. Maybe a 1515, but that might be too much power.

Go with a larger can and lower Kv rating on 3s for the most power possible, or a 2s setup with a shorter can with a higher Kv setup for a more economical option.

If you are racing, I think that NAMBA rules only allow you to run 2s lipo in a hull of that size.

I'm not the best at specific setups, but this should give you an idea.

    BTW:

Do you have a specific budget?

Yes i do, I was into racing big time, in nitro, but had alot of medical issues, and became disabled, and had no choice but to sell most of my fleet. so iv got limited funds to work with, but i love running rc boats, so im going to try electrics. Dont have alot of elec. racing in my area, but i still enjoy just trying to see what i can get out of an elec. hydro. speed wise

      Thanks for your reply.

For a good budget setup I recomend going with the Feigao 6L motor, Castle Creations Hydra 120, and a 2s1p lipo, I don't think there is room for a 2s2p pack. If you wish to go with some budget lipo's give these a try. LIPO I have been running them all summer with good results. Start with a detunged 632 prop. Once you are dialed in you will be running about a 637 prop, detunged. Thats a fun hull, best of luck.

In my blizzard I can only fit up to an "L" can... the 1512 is too long to place inside w/o some serious modifications... I used an 8L, it looked pretty, with the 6L... hold on to your pants! And 2cell lipos fit just fine. not sure about 2s2p like Joe was saying... have not tried it, maybe 2 2500mAh cells would fit.

            how about this:

It's $30 cheaper than on OSE. You can also probably find a suitable lipo on their site.

            You can use this esc:

It works fine with Pistol Tx's.

              Joe,
When you say 2s2p pack do you mean 2 packs in paralell, if so how do you wire the packs up ive always been confused about paraleling 2 packs to get more Mah. is there a link somewhere that shows how to do this.

              Thanks

                Ub Haul

Is it best to run the blizzard with or without the rear sponsons? Any body can chime in on this one.
                Thanks

no rear sponsons needed at all... the power these motors have these days are immense, they would only get in the way

that's exactly what I was thinking when I built my Predator (basically the same boat)

This may be of some use to you on 3s lipo. Fiegao 8L, think he was asking $45 with cooling jacket.

I thought he was going to use 2s lipo?

Why not just buy one brand new for $40?

You can buy from them(I do), but if you want it in a reasonable amount of time shipping is $20. I was just trying to help. The motor is advertised as new along with a cooling jacket($15) and 6mm bullet connectors. I think I may buy it myself.

Shipping to HERE. Hydro 24 is in NZ. A short jump south from HK. Shipping won't be half of what we pay.
