I don't think he used that kit, but David Hall in Alabama (co-designer of the JAE platform) has been running a JAE style hull for some time now. He has a couple of IMPBA 2 lap oval records. I was a couple of years back, but he was running a "big" boat at the Hobart race in open hydro with twin gas and twin nitro boats.

Speaking strictly about that kit, I thought someone on here put one together with a castle 1717.

I own a few ginormous motors that could push a boat this big. Not sure if I want to go there but hey you know how I am...............quick, everyone build one and we'll race them on our postage stamp sized pond.

Might be a fun multi-season experiment. I still want to build a T wild thing just because nobody has tried it. Such a massive undertaking though.

I know a couple people have including David Hall. David's 2-lap boat is however a much smaller "light T" set-up for his recent records. I believe he had a large Neu/Schulze powered one in the beginning but went to a lighter set-up.

Some pics of various T boats.
