Hey Ray, when you raced at Greeley for the Nats, I used one of the guys high end radar guns and your scale boat topped out between 51-56 mph
depending on where I stood on the shore and got the best line on it.

I quess my reply didn't go through. Last year in p-ltd hydro(riggers) I set the fast time for the year with my current boat running a AQ 2030 turnigy 120amp esc w/ etti cap bank, and turnigy nanotech 45c-90c 5000 mah packs with a cut down pitched up H-7. The time was a 1:25:.. This year i bought new packs Venom 5000mah 50c-100c and Im running a sharpened and balanced s-15 and I currently have the fast time for the year up to now with a 1:28:25. If you don't mind me asking Brian what was the prop that you set the record with at a 1:10:11??? Just curious. My boat seems to want more prop since the motor runs about 120 degrees but the esc is like 100 and batteries are 100 and its only bringing them down in a heat race to about 50% Some times 45 but alot of the time is 50-53% range. I have a 1817 1819 and a 1918 to try but just wanted to get an idea what crazy thing you ran to get ure boat that fast to set a 1:10 heat race time. lol

        Tommy,
It's a heavily worked over 1816. The 1817 will be faster when it's all said and done.

I appreciate you relinquishing that info. I know alot of guys won't let anyone know even the size let alone that actual prop. btw here's my rigger:

I run with the NAMBA club in Bradenton (West Florida model boat club)
I am up here in Canada right now and will be back in Florida in JAN.
Maybe we can get some of our members to come up to one of your club races this winter??

Great idea. Just yesterday, I told one of my race buddies that we should attend one of the Sarasota events. Pardon me if I lump Bradenton into Sarasota. hehe

Our events are off the books, no sanctions, and NAMBA course may not be perfect. 1st & 3rd Saturday of the month. I'll ask the President about it, but I bet he'd love to have a delegation from another reservation.

Sorry OP, a little late. My MC with a PB 1800 Kv motor and AQ ESC spins a near-stock x445 with a top speed at 45 mph when set up for oval. With the water we run on, any faster and you usually don't finish. Temps on motor, pack and ESC are around 125*F after a full heat, even on a hot Texas day.

FWIW my FE30 runs a modded H-7 and Castle ICE100, topping out at 54 mph. I ran the same AQ2030 motor for four race seasons before it finally crapped out, so it was not an abusive setup.

Well, Saturday was a race day at the bigger lake, so I put the Garmin Forerunner 201 in a couple of boats. Sure enough, with the longer straights and rougher water, both clocked faster than during practice on the small lake. The P-Lim Impulse bumped from about 37 to almost 41 MPH. The P Pursuit bumped from about 47 to almost 54 MPH. So, I am much more content than when I started this thread.
