Need help to identify tunnel, nitro 3.5 K&B leg

I got this today from a neighbor moving out.

Needs lots of tlc but, solid.

Looks like a prather? Its wood and 29-5/8" long hull.

Leg barely takes a 40mm prop, there was a 438 on there.

Engine was tight until I took Corrosion block to it, carb seems seized, letting it soak.

    Help would be appreciated, thanks!

Ray, I'm not sure what that is, but it's totally cool!

      I LOVE TUNNELS!!

You might get a solid response on International Waters in the Outboard section. Jerry or Carl or someone might know.

Odds are Ray the bearings in the motor are completely locked up; especially the PTO bearings. Unless the previous user properly oiled it before putting it in storage (highly doubtful). It would need to be carefully dis-assembled is see if anything is salvageable. Assuming you can get the motor completely disassembled, it will need new bearings; no questions asked (4 in total).

In short, it's not going to be worth much unless you can find someone that has a parts inventory and experience that fit that year/model number (assuming the piston, sleeve, rod, and crank aren't junk). Even if you find someone, by the time you put new bearings in it and spend the time cleaning it up, it's a wash at best.

        Later,

Ray, The K&B 3.5 after you put engine and PTO bearings in it, still wouldn't be worth much and even the lower not a desired unit. Any offer for parts take it. The hull looks similar to the old Octura "Tom Cat". Not sure it was offered in wood though? Might make an interesting FE conversion.

Thanks guys. Sleeve and piston look o.k. and yes the bearings are toast but, got them to turn with Corrosion X. It's quite free now.

I hear you guys. I'll just tinker with it. Might convert the leg to electric hogging out all the extra aluminum but, we'll see.

It's fun, glad it was free.

Man Ray, that's an oddball. Doesn't look like any of my prather lap cats. The only thing it kind of resembles is the old "wedge" hotshot that may have been modified. Cool boat!
