Nope, I got the Triton running (BIG THANKS to Brian!)...although a tad glitchy. I won Pmono at the last race with it.

The DF is next year's challenger!

I am building one right now. My plan is to run something in the 7xl-9xl range. I am thinking the 8 or 9 so I can swing a bigger prop which seems to work well on these hulls.

anybody knows where to find NEU Motors specs, I was interrested in comparing the torque of a Feigao 8XL to a 1515-1Y, the Feigao being a 2 pole motor and the Neu being a 4 pole, there must be a big difference... numbers?

The high voltage - low amperage approach is a good one. If more people went this route we would see less fires in our esc's.

One option since you already have a 1515 2.5D (It looks like that has a Kv of 1700).

Run that motor on 4S. Buy a pair of 4S1P 5000 25c packs and run them in parallel. X445 prop. Get your feet wet with this setup. Castle 120 controller but a 240 will be a better investment.

Once you have a handle on setup, speed, amp draw/runtime and handling, you can probably go higher with the prop.

Then, if you really want to run 8S, run your packs in series (8S1P) and buy a lower Kv motor. But, then you'll need an HV controller. So, maybe you would want to invest in a HV controller from the get-go. Up to you.

Keep in mind, though, that runtime = heat. No matter what you go with (4S or 8S), your equipment will get heat and longer runtimes require you to monitor your equipment temps very, very closely.
