2008 IMPBA Canadian Fast Electric Nationals

This years race was well attended and very competitive. Special thanks to the Hallams of the Thames Valley Model Boat Club for the use of their pond and race gear, as well as their assistance in setting up and tearing down...they are just amazing with their committment to model boat racing regardless of fuel type. Thanks Mike, Robin and Roger.

I would also like to thank our race CD, Randall Thomas for keeping things rolling right on time despite some challenging weather.

Further, I would like to thank those vendors that sponsored us it was greatly appreciated. Special acknowledgement to Steven Vaccaro of OffshoreElectrics.com, Derek Osborn of Osborn Model kits and Fred Siewert of UniqueFE.com, as well as Paul Pachmeyer of FastElectricRC.com for stepping up to the plate as far as last minute sponsorship monies were concerned.

We ran a couple of nitro only classes as well as allowing both gas and nitro in our Open Mono and Open Hydro classes. By all accounts the nitro and gas guys enjoyed the racing as well.

I will let any of the participants provide feedback publically about the race, I encourage them to do so. I took a step away from the transmitter for this one...and I was even more tired than if I raced all weekend.

Thanks to all who participated, and we look forward to an even bigger event next year.

    It was fun
This was my first time at an "organized" event and I would encourage everyone to try racing if they get the chance

Thanks to Steve and all of the other organizers of the event.

Hey I recognize that dog in your avatar Doby!!!!!!!

Nice running with you.....not bad for a newbie to racing either.

Gotta let you guys know that John is a good sport too. It's a tradition in London to get a dunking for a first time winner. John did not get entirely soaked but well enough! Hat's off to you.

Steve and the crew put on a fantastic race. The only thing they could not control was the weather which was sometimes quite fatal to racing. Other than that we had some great racing at a very nicely prepared site.

Wisconsonites, Arizonians, Michiginians, Ohioans and Canadians did battle and drank a few down afterward....nice.
