I do have a gap between the dog and stinger, I just have the thrust washer in there just in case.

Got it out and did some running with the new motor and prop combo. What a difference!

I love this boat now. It's my new favorite. It runs cool, is fairly fast and has STUPID run times. I paralleled two 5000mAh 5 cells for 10,000mah. I seriously got tired of running before the batteries went dead. 20+ minutes. On 6 cells @ 5000Mah a solid 10 minute run time, not all at full throttle because it was so rough, but dang...

I'll now spend the winter cleaning it up and making a hatch cover because I darn near lost my gps.
I may squeeze in a speed run later this year. as it stands in rough water it made 33 mph.

Print screen from your video doesn't show any gap,

Must be the picture and video making the gap disappear because I see a drive dog pinned against thrust washers that are tight up against the strut.

      Just trying to help you.
      I didn't see any.
In any case the stuffing tube isn't how you want it run either. Usually the stuffing tube goes into or all the way through the strut. Looks like you can see the cable. You must you use a different type of setup than I am familiar with but I can assure you it isn't the proper way. However you like it I guess. Doesn't seem you want to hear or know about how to build a boat correctly.

Usually the stuffing tube at least enters the front of the strut for bronze or lead teflons or all the way through to the back of the strut for a slip fit type sleeve bushing. That way the grease that gets pumped rearward by the cable windings doesn't just get pumped right out instantly and expelled into the water and never lubes the strut bushing(s) at all and allows the cable to go dry really quickly.

You have to remember daniel, I'm a noob. This is my first mono and there is such lag time between me asking questions (on here and other forums) that I end up winging it then reporting back and it looks like I'm resistant to tips and advise. For an example, the thrust bearing. It was all set up at the stinger and had been run a few times before anything was said about putting it on the motor behind the collet. I posted that picture on 8-2 and am just getting responses now 10-20. Nobody even answered the prop question or the esc question.

There is a teflon liner between the stinger and the tube, again, lack of knowledge and responses have lead to the current set up I have. When first setting up I did try to fit the brass into the stinger, but it was too big, but the teflon tube fit nicely so I assumed that was how it was supposed to be. It is what it is.

32". Not including the 5" for the rudder.

I dunno. Reliability is my goal I guess, but it'd be nice to wow a crowd. 55mph? 65?

Well, I've made a fiberglass hatch cover and painted the boat. Now to wait for a good day to take her out.

That is sweet. Really like those little Dumas boats.

Had a blast with a wood Dumas DV10 and a fiberglass Dumas Sk-daddle about 40 years ago wish I still had those.
