Finally made the move to BL

Thanks to Dunkanjerry I have made the move to a brushless motor. I have installed a KB-45L and a 70 amp Cermark ESC. I had to go back to my stick TX to get the ESC to arm but what the hey. I will start with a Prather 215 and go from there. Here is a pic of what I have and will try it out this weekend.

Given the dramas that I have had over the last few weeks in regards to glitching, I have narrowed down the suspects my two favourite brushed 23t superstock cans.
I really like the performance that I get and know that I will get more when I go BL but I am now pouring money down the pond with brush replacements etc
The big kicker for going to BL is the cost of the ESC.
I can get BL cans for about the same price as brushed, but the matching speedy is twice the price.
I have now chosen to run the brushed cans to death with my tunnel and maybe the cat.
For the others I can get away with 2 BL cans and 1 speedy to run the Balsa fleet.
That is the rigger, hybrid-hydro, canard, small cat.

Thanks to Chuck(egneg). He has given me the last push that I needed to get into the modern world.
        BL here I come. !!!!

          there are 100 Amp 2s-6s speedo's for $65. 12s versions for $95.

People have used these with Neu 1515 1d's in tunnels without any problems at all.

          There's another for $30.

          You wan't links?

I too was a stick in the mud and would not make the switch. Months ago Taylor Shaw suggested just such a setup on another forum when I was looking to upgrade the original motors in my hurricane. I didn't want to make a switch for all the same reasons you have stated. I wanted to switch them out with a drop in replacement which I did with a pair of 15 turn brushed motors. I then went direct drive with a 700SC. I was very happy with the results until diego boy and dirty south came along and I saw what brushless was all about. In comes duncanjerry with a boat that does 80 mph and I was sold. I just made a good deal on a pair of firefox 2S-3700-25c lipo's so I have been dragged into the modern age hook-line-and sinker but I still like the simplicity of my GP3300's. Oh well now I need to find a good deal on a balancer for the lipo's. It does seam as if advances in technology always lead to a more complicated world.

Thanks for the link as that balancer seems to fill the bill.

I have had the chance to run the BL setup in the hurricane for the second time. I still need to do a bit of tweaking but am happy with the results so far.

I slowed down the video that Diego took of my first run w/ a brushless setup on lipo's.
