I thought it was awesome. Chris thought it was cool enough for him to do it to a Mean Machine... seeing it wasn't breaking any rules or didn't create new ones

Yes it ran in F1 but with a special exemptions written into the rules. The engine displacement was much larger than the 153 cubic inch outboard yet still lacked the needed performance.

I love these rules types of threads. I am a racing fan of all types, cars, motorcycles, etc. and when somebody shows up with a radical design change and pisses off the establishment, I have a huge smile on my face. That is what racing is about....it is the mother of invention.
When Jim Clark showed up at the Indy 500 in a wee Lotus, that was a classic example of forward thinking....old farts will know what that was, it turned the racing world...backwards!!!

I love this boat, upgraded it to 4S and it was so awesome.
But it is a big problem to get spare parts...there are no part numbers or anything that helps to order them from the internet.
No chance to get single for the B42525 TFL Hobby F1 Drive system :-(

Diging up this thread, I just bought a version of this boat design from Tenshock.
I hav the same questions about partss for the outdrive.
                  I have found this:

                  and this:
Cheetah, Super Rio, (Mod) Starship (Mod and sold),

I am really impressed with this design. Runs and turns in both directions awesome. It rips.
I have not had a chance to run it a lot yet, so still working the kinks out, finding the battery balance point and such.

i'm so glad larryrose11 dug this info up, this boat caught my eye about a week ago, and it's the first time tonight i looked into spare parts for this boat and the drive system seems to be the greater expense of the boat until i saw lr11's post. up to $175 on ebay i found for the drive system, then lr11's find with motor $110 ($43 w/o motor) now i'll purchase one, they cost more now and hard to find i found a place up to 3 weeks B.O. (for the boat)
i have a Stiletto that needs a companion and plan on building a BBY OPC tunnel (outboard motor) in the winter time.
The Caudwell F1 and the EMEC F1 seem to be the same specs, is there a difference i don't see? besides color scheme.
                        Thanx again lr11

anyone have the EMEC F1 (white and orange) of this boat? E-mailed TFL 3 times no response Monica once. MFE has communicated about these two models with me via email 8 times. just wondering if any one has put this boat through its paces. what vids i've seen shows a very nimble craft.

Action Clusters appears not to be trustworthy!

just acquired the F1 Drive System for a spare on ebay. Thanx for the insight larryrose11.
other than spare props for this machine , i have spares of most other goodies. ESC upgrade and stronger servo i will try on for size later. my Stilletto will have a companion for a comparable joust.
