Just curious if someone who has experience with dual pickup rudders has any advice? Do they supply twice the water or should a person just run a separate pickup and leave the single pickup rudder alone?

They supply twice the fluid The inlets are dedicated to each channel within the rudder, so you have mass A through one line, and mass B through another line. Adding a transom pickup is an option if you don't want to change the rudder, but then you're introducing drag. In something like a catamaran, through-hull pickups work well, but I believe rudder pickups supply the most consistent flow due to being submerged most often.
The next question is, "do I need a second pickup/cooling line?" If you're running an unmodified ready-to-run setup, it's generally not viewed as necessary to add cooling lines beyond the single-pickup rudder. If you're converting from single motor+ESC to twin motor+ESC, or upgrading the electronics to a "hotter" combo, then it becomes necessary. But heat is converted energy that your system is losing, so if you just want to keep things cooler, there is no harm in that.Last edited by lt130th; 06-26-2015, 03:40 PM.
