    O.S. leg (vs) OSE leg

The OSE outboard lower unit looks very similar to the O.S., and they are the same price($145).

    1) Why not buy the OSE, which already comes with a mount for electric motors, because you'd still have to purchase the Electric adapter for the O.S. leg?

    2) What are the major performance differences between the two legs?

    Thanks,
    -Chad

Anyone have an opinion on this?

Has anyone tried the OSE Outboard?

from what i have heard and seen, there is no comparison in the quality department. The OS is far superior, especially the prop shaft assembly.

The only "real difference" I could see was that the O.S. has enough clearance for a 47mm prop, as opposed to the 44mm of the OSE.

I guess if you upgrade the FlexShaft to an O.S., you're still around the $ame ballpark as if you'd just purchased the O.S. Leg + Electric Adapter.

I was just wondering if they had different handling characteristics, stability differences, etc. It's basically the same cost, and (IMO) the OSE piece is very nice, and not a Nitro Conversion.

Looks like you can adjust the leg angle independently if the pivot pin angle on the OS. Which I would think is a good thing.
