destroyed my daytona- DF Explorer??

Well, a hard wipe out put an end to my daytona today. I went to FC's website to order a replacement and it seems functional, but won't let me order anything due to errors with the shipping methods (there are none shown but errors..). Are they still up and running?

I am running a single Leopard 4082 1600 on 6s mostly, 8s for speed runs. What is a suitable replacement for this hull if I can't get another? I was looking at the Explorer at OSE, anyone have input on how that would compare to the Daytona? What other options are there?

Sorry to hear about your boat. You can email fc and get a sale worked out, seems the online payment system doesn't always work. Any pictures of the wreck? I hope it isn't a total loss. The genesis is the same hull but done in fiberglass, they can be very strong as well with a good carbon fiber inlay. I was rather disappointed with the fiberglass layup itself and feel it would have failed sooner than later. I liked the fact the paintings done and it's quite nicely done.
Keith Bradley built a 100 plus mph delta force awhile back, you should be able to find it using the search feature. I am considering the Delta force as well but the huge hatch opening concerns me. It looks like it would need a well planned and thorough Cf inlay. Lots of room to work inside to. If you do go with the delta force they have stingers that were designed specifically for the boat available. Very pretty with a neat adjustment system but can be hard to find. I think theres a build in progress on here of someone doing a high end delta force build. I've been away a few weeks and my memory is terrible. Good luck with whatever you decide!

I have a new Daytona hull w/ carbon-kevlar inlay, but it's drilled for twin 110mm stingers and has the fg rudder mount already installed. Never got around to finishing it.

My Daytona was fg but I got in touch with Fightercat and am just going to order a cf one to replace it. My hull can be repaired, but it has a lot of stress cracks and all the strakes on the rear step are destroyed. Even what looks intact in pics is barely holding on and cracked to hell. Where the sponson meets the tunnel is stress cracked almost the entire length and fairly loose compared to the other side as well. I planned on painting the boat shortly but with the amount of cracks it has, it's just not worth fixing to me. Maybe I'll tinker with it in my spare time and see what I can do. I have a spare motor and esc that can go in it if I fix it. I have attached some pics of the damage and a be for pic showing the rails and battery trays I made for it.

Thanks for the offer but as said above, just going to order a new cf. I was curious though, I tried a stand up servo mount in mine and it didn't clear the hatch, yet I see a lot of pics with them standing up like that. Are you using standard servos or low profile?

low profile high torque Futaba servo, but modified the fg mount so it would clear the cowl at the rear.

fella1340- The hatch opening is cool but a bit unnerving especially if not doing an inlay. The explorer is technically a budget boat/china hull but it handles rough water at high speed in a way very very hulls can. Kinda wet running, even so its at the top of my list for FE SAW cats.

Lol, the important question! It went 40 on 4s with a detunged 642, 63.1 on 6s with same prop and no "tuning" to try to improve it, and has gone 76 on 8s with the same prop again. This time out, I started on a 438 prop on 8s and was going to work up to a 645 and tune things as I went to see if I could beat my previous 76. On the 438, it went 69.xx. I went to the 642 and it left the water while accelerating. GPS shows a max speed of 68.8, so I'm assuming that's where it left the water. The sound it made when it hit and the loss of power coupled with the fact that I had the trays in there very well and knowing one had to have come loose and unplugged the battery, I knew it was done..

76 isn't too bad. I had one that went 85 on 7s and 72 on 6s. If I would have kept it longer it would have gone faster

What motor were you running? KV? I know by how hard this boat accelerated on 8s that it had more to it, but I never got to dial it in. I haven't touched it in 2 years and prior to that, conditions were never really right to get it dialed in on 8s. I was planning on spending some time doing that yesterday, but it didn't make it lol.

CF hull and accessories ordered, so I'll be trying again shortly :).
