    Motley Crew or Impulse 31

Hello All, I am new to this forum. I have been in the RC Hobby now for nearly 30 years now. I have cars, Fly Helis and planes and have done the RC boats in the past. I haven't had a boat since 2008. I had a traxxas blast, brushless black jack 26 and a Shockwave 55. I am looking to get back into RC FE Boating. Which boat would be a better boat to start with, the Aquacraft Motley Crew or the Pro Boat impulse 31? Also what mods would you suggest for either of these boats...motor/esc, prop etc. I am looking for speed. I would like them to be capable of reaching speeds in the 60 mph range, that's if these boats are capable of handling those speeds. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank You

Neither boat will get to that speed without alot of modifying. And those boat hulls arent up to the task of 60mph. It would take alot of money and setup time. I would probably look at the Hobbyking Genesis, knowing that it will also take money and time, but at least it would be a better boat to shoot for that 60 mph.
My buddy has a pure stock Impulse 31 running Dual 3s Lipos, and it is quicker out the hole than my Traxxas Spartan, but just a tad slower at Top End, it runs very good on the water, and top speed is in the high 40's. If your flexible on that 60 mph, they are both nice boats. The Probat Blackjack29 is also in the 50 mph range.
Im sure there will be many forum members with other ideas.

Thanks for the info Xcessive carts. I myself would be happy just getting into the 50 mph range, my buddy is looking to get back into the boats too. I used to run my shockwave 55 with him he really wants something ridiculously fast. I really like the cats but my shockwave really carved the water nicely so I am still unsure whether to go cat or deep v. We will be running them in a man made rc boat lake in a local park.

A lake like that will probably be pretty smooth most of the time. If it were me, and i wanted a RTR, I would go with the Blackjack29 v3. But, the Lucas Oil cat is very nice also.
