    OP, can you elaborate your term "prop slippage", please? I don't understand.
    BTW, boilo56 is correct in that by placing this type of pickup closer to the keel is an attempt to keep it in the water more. When you turn right, the port side is raised, so is your pick up unless you have it really long and dragging in the water all the time.
    Rudder pick up is the most efficient, next the prop wash pick up is also a good alternative way of giving cooling to your components.

    This was done to compare the volume between the standard TFL rudder and the prop wash pick up. I had found that reshaping the tear drop hole on the rudder is of most importance as far as mitigating the lack of volume on those rudders.
    Too many boats, not enough time...

      I mean by placing it between the trim tab and strut, it would create and air pocket, thus reducing the efficiency of the prop

        I'm with boilo56 on this.
        Just put it next to the strut and be done with it.
        For cripes sake.... There's a NASA chart in here...
