Seems to be the same hull as the Kyosho Hurricane 900. ESC's & hardware are the same as always from the Dragon Hobby/Venom/Atomik lines. I have an order in, but I procrastinated & am now waiting for the Hong Kong warehouse to get more in stock.
I would expect it to run about 40mph on 3 cell LiPo's, out of the box, with 40mm props. A Blackjack 29 should outrun it, in stock trim. But, we'll soon see. "Soon" being as much as a couple months for me...
I've seen those ESC's take 5s in a Venom KOS P1. The 2200kv motor burned up but the ESC & .130" flex shaft survived. I think you could get away with 4s on these electronics...for a little while at least.
In stock at the USA East warehouse for $320. That's what I was expecting. I paid $311 shipped with a buddy code from the Int'l warehouse. But I'm paying with wait time, now...
I also just picked one of these up, waiting for it to arrive. Do you think this hull could handle a pair of Castle 1515 1900kv on 6s with Seaking 120A esc's? I also have a pair of ALign BL600Xl 1650KV out runners lying around I have been wanting to use in a twin cat. Would either of these motors work in this cat with some reinforcing, or would they tear this thing apart? I already have a pair of Seaking 120A ESC's lying around. If these motors would not work what would be a good choice to run with the Seaking 120's? Always followed the twin cat builds on this forum & have always dreamed of trying one so I have been collecting parts & figured this would be a good place to start!
In fact, in my very limited experience I would say that is true of most RTR hulls, with the exception of boats like Pro Boat's Impulse 31...which is a tank among RTR hulls.

I think that backemfs' sugestion of these 28mm HET motors over on the R/C Groups thread are the best up[grade motor. They will fit straight in without having to replace the mounts. Have a good read of the specs on these motors. Impressive for a 28mm motor. And that's 2400 watts 'Nominal' not max. http://www.highendrc.com/index_eprod...roducts_id=304

Thanks for the heads up. Going to check out that thread.
Just wanted to share this link from another thread. But this this cat is very similar at 34". They are getting close to 60 on 4s with Leopard 2860 3400kv & 60A esc. I wonder how the stock setup would hold up to 4s?

If you look at the rating on the side of the ESC you will see that the V3 60A ESC is only rated to 3s. If you want to exceed the manufacturers recommendations then it is at your peril. The 60A V2 versions were rated to 6s.
HMMM i see. I have a pair of these http://www.hobbypartz.com/07e-c-seaking-60a.html Seaking 60A V2'S They are rated for for 3-6s. Maybe I will just pull the Turnigy 60A ESC's & sell them & use the Seakings on 4s with the stock motors & bigger props. I also have a pair of Seaking 120A ESC's if I needed.
