    Can anyone identify this boat?

I have not been able to find any information on this hull. I picked it up and am in the process of gathering parts for the build.

I don't know who made it, but it appears to be a chop gun boat. Fiberglass is 'sprayed' into a sticky mold with an air gun. Does not make for as light or sturdy a hull as a hand laid fiberglass cloth hull like the 'RC Model Boat' hulls that OSE sells. Will probably do the job until you get 'bumped' a few times. In my newbie opinion, I would like to go with a better hull with all the time and money that will ultimately be invested in a build project. Just my 2cents worth.

Thanks for the info, my son races RC cars indoor and I was thinking about joining him, but distance is an obstacle and living on a lake the boat makes more sense. My dad built a boat during WWII with a gas engine, made to be tethered but he never got to see it run. I resurrected it, built a rudder, put in a motor and electronics, and was able to run it in his memory. Of course that led to me thinking I must get another boat and came across this hull at a really reasonable price so I picked it up. The hull is 26" long and I have been collecting parts for the build. It will be a fun and educational boat. I plan on documenting the build here as I go. The list of parts for it is something like this: Leopard LBP4065-B/3Y 1800kv motor, Seaking 120A ESC, twin rudders, (I know no need for twins, read on) adjustable stinger and am still researching batteries, planning on running 2 2cell batteries in series. I have carbon fiber mat to reinforce the hull and have cut a reinforcing piece of plywood for the transom. Now for the strange question; Has anyone ever thought of using ackerman on a dual rudder setup on a boat and why won't it work? I am planning on setting the dual rudders up with ackerman to play with it.

I'm sure that after this build I will be more serious about the next one and choose a good hull and components. This one is a relatively low buck build and like I said it's for fun and experience. After it is done it probably will sit on a shelf at my sons business because I plan on painting it with his stores logo etc.

This is my dads boat, I tried to keep it as original as possible, has a 3/16 solid shaft with a prop that he made out of a piece of aluminum from a B24 propeller using only a hacksaw and a file. IMG_0277.JPGIMG_0276.JPG
