Well, I found a used Revolt for sale last night - and now it's shipping to me. Thanks for everyone's help.

That's a good little boat. Will get your feet wet. Kaotic got his to go 76mph btw. Which is truly impressive.

Wow. That is fast. I was reading some older threads here - and it looks like folks really like the Octura X642 prop on it. I was also looking at the upgraded OSE flex cable. The good news is I have a receiver also headed here for it...so hopefully I'll be able to get it on the water pretty quick. I also already own a pair of 7200mAh 60C 2s batteries (11.74 oz each) - hopefully they won't be too heavy for it. And learn the necessary maintenance for a boat.

I'm sure doesn't handle rough stuff quite as well as the KBB 34"...but for the price I found it for it'll be a nice way to at least see if this is going to be a new addiction, or just something I play with every now and then.

If I were you I'd put a .187 flex in it. Pull the Teflon out and it should fit. The .150 flex, I've had issues with in my rtr boats.

^^ I may have to get some more info from you on that. I don't have a boat to look at in front of me - so that is all Greek at this point.

Ok, the Revolt is finally here, and I have a couple of pre-go-screw-it-up questions.

                    1) Manual says to spray "water displacer" into the motor and jacket. Is plain WD-40 or WD-40 silicone spray acceptable for this?
                    2) This is going to be the first time I've ever run a boat that went over 10-15 mph. SO - I'm sure I'll have to work up to WOT. On this particular boat with 100% stock electronics running 4s, will running at part throttle hurt anything?
                    3) I'm going to use a Spektrum MR200 Rx on this (with the two antennas). Spektrum says to run up and one horizontal. Is this "necessary", and if so, where would be the best place to make a hole to run the antenna up and out of the boat? Seems like not the hatch would be best so I wasn't always threading an antenna?
                    4) Looks like I can either stack 2x 2s batteries, or run them side by side. I assume this could affect the way it turns? Is either method "better"?
                    5) Is there any drawback to scuffing the bottom of the boat with a red 3m scuff pad?

                    Thanks.

And pics of it in my possession (looks like every other Revolt, I'd assume):

                      1. Yes wd40 ok
                      2. Partial throttle ok, but I'm sure you'll be juicing it in no time. Don't worry about people telling you it's not.
                      3. Dunno, the stock tactic radios are awesome so I never bothered with anything else
                      4. Side by side imo
                      5. No drawback that I know of, but no advantage either.
                      That debate will never end.

You sure got a nice one. You'll be able to handle it at full throttle in no time.

Thanks! Luck - I appreciate the quick responses (Structures fan, I assume?)!

The gentleman I bought it from said only has 2 runs on it - based on my dealings with him, I have no reason to doubt that. Looks new to me.

This was one was originally an RxR - so it never came with a radio pre-installed. Just didn't know how to properly set up the antennas on an MR200. It's fiberglass, not CF - so both in the boat wouldn't be horrible, right? Just do a range test before I push it too far out?

EDIT: Rx bound, rudder water inlet lengthened (per the Revolt manual), flex cable lubed, and failsafe tested...all ready to go run tomorrow!

Also - I could be wrong (it's happen before, last June on a Tuesday) - but the angle of the drive/prop/strut looks to be facing down. I'll run it first, but seems like that would plant the bow?

Now I curse myself for how much time I've spent with a jet, and very with a prop - except those that came out through the middle of a boat via a Casale (and on my budget, absolutely zero time with a surface drive).

                            Maiden run has been completed!

The water was a little rougher than I had hoped. It was calm yesterday and pretty windy today - go figure. Anyway...first quick run went well, but I was right - the downward angle of the prop did want the plant the boat and it wasn't a "boatload" of fun. Full throttle was a bit sketchy. Brought it back, adjusted the strut by eyeball and took it back out. MUCH better. No more plowing and was so much easier to drive. You guys were right...it took me almost 47 seconds to work up to full throttle.

I think the first thing I'm going to modify will be the battery tray. It sits pretty high, and it MUCH wider than is necessary. Leads me to believe I could build a new one that sits a bit lower and is closer to the correct width.

The only other question I have right now is this: The throttle doesn't seem very responsive/smooth. There seems to be a bit of a delay from when the trigger is pulled at when the motor begins to run (1-2 seconds, maybe), and even then it feels like it has maybe 3 throttle "settings" no matter where you are on the trigger. Is this normal? I've been driving sensored cars for a while...so my thoughts might be skewed. I connected the batts, heard the first beep, then went to full throttle for the second beep, then released and heard 3 beeps - seems to be the right way (not sure it will allow you to "do it wrong"?). I had throttle trim at zero.

                              Weight lower is better.

Nice Revolt! Glad your getting the feet wet!
Windy days your batteries will be charged and you will have plenty of time, calm days= lipos in storage and no time.... lol That is how it works for me at least.
I went off the deep end and bought a decent size power supply (just a tad over 1,700 watts, charger is next) so I won't have to wait on charging as long.

I would not scuff the hull, IF you go to sell it (after you get a built boat) someone will complain about it... Always always always!

I think you got yourself a great buy! That Revolt was one of the better Aquacraft boats I have seen, now they make tuppaware boats....
Why are you bothering me? I want to see your boat!
