    Hydra wires

I need some info please ....

In the process of tiding up the inside of my Thunder Cat, I seem to have a lot of excess wire from batteries to Hydra & from motor to Hydra!

Can I trim them & if I do -- do I trim motor & battery side or does it matter if I shorten the Hydra wires?

I was told and have had good luck shortening motor side just to be sure to keep them pretty close in length to eachother. Also with battery side I was told to try to keep them less than 6" in length. I would imagine that includes battery wires.

I imagine someone would know better, this is just what I have been told my others

I shorten all my wires when I can. I even took 1 1/2" off the wires on my Lipo's. Unless you need long wires shortening all the wires is a good thing. Less wire=less resistance.

Shorter is better for all power wires, motor and battery side.

I ALSO AGREE SHORTENING THE WIRES IS A GOOD IDEA. IT ALSO HELPED MY HYDRA 120LV GO FROM 137 DEGREES TO 121 IN WATER TEMPS CLOSE TO 85
DEGREES WHILE RUNNING 5S 4900mah LIPO'S IN MY DELTA FORCE MONO. I NEVER CHANGED SETUP JUST CUT OFF ALL THE EXCESS.

i 2 think shorting the wires is a good idea , but be careful that you don't go to short(1") because you will have a good chance the solder will wick down the wire and could cause the already solder joint(wire) to become stiff and any load-vibration could cause the joint to fail.

the only wires you don't want to shorten are the wires coming out of the motor these wires are an extentsion of the windings

Shorter is better all the way around. Although a little extreme, now and then I see motor wires soldered directly to the esc.

I have been looking for that picture forever... I was there when he found his boat...
it was barely submerged for 2 days and there was a resident already.

Very fast is understated, it is THE fastest, for now at least

                        Blake,
                        did you take these shots?
Or where did you find it?

Somebody else took them. I got them off RR. I can't remember the thread. I think they make a good case for keeping your wires short.
