    rescue boat

hey guys, does anyone know of a good rescue boat or a boat I can modify to be a good rescue boat? And what is a good mechanism to snag the boat that needs rescuing i.e. like a rope of something?I kind of feel like a dork standing out there with a fishing pole in hand trying to finish my boat out of the lake.

    Thanks for the input

Jack, one of the SLOBS, is making a self-propelled pool noodle (in the shape of the letter "H") using the guts from a Zig-Zag. Stay tuned for a construction article.

That rescue noodle looks pretty cool. Please let us know if it works well once you tested it.

2 long pieces of foam for the sponsons, a tupperware between them with a pneumatic bulkhead to pass the trans through, foam is in the workshop, tupperware in the kitchen!

Did someone say foam and tupperware ??

I know..ugly as sin and built from builders foam and spare parts plus some brass sheet and tubing for the rudder and strut.Works pretty well except the surface drive prop won't let it run in reverse but it does turn on a dime so that helps.

RescueJet 5000 (a John Deere product)

Here's my latest rescue boat project. It breaks down and fits into a gun case. No tools needed, it's all held together with rubber bands. It works great for harvesting weeds, debris and stranded boats.

Geared Speed 400 (10 amp current draw). I'm currentlly using my old GP 2200s, but I can use almost any battery.

I like the strakes for keeping smaller boats from being swamped (??) .Something I need to do as the hydromites and DF minis go under the hull more often than not during retrieval attempts
