Nicely done, the curve in the air cuts look really great. I just watched your 50.5 mph run, super stable.
Too many boats, not enough time...

Its time to test more props, does any one sell them and let you try them to see if there going to work out? I know i did that with my 1978 checkmate with a 200 2.5 merc. But props for that were 350$ and up

I let off so I don't have to go swim. But I have noticed it turns great about half throttle.

I ran the boat yesterday, my temps are from 70-85 degrees and that was after several nonstop full speed straight always. Are we thinking x646?

the most important part of sanding your sponsons is making the trailing edge sharp, also i've found that when sanding the gel coat, 300-400 grit is best I've even used 200, 600 is too fine. you don't want is too smooth, you want it a little rough to break the surface tension between the water and the hull, I've seen increases in speeds of 2-3 mph with just scuffin the bottom of the boat. what prop are you running? I have swung a 648 and a 646/3 with that motor on bigger heavier hulls so you should be able to do so with a MM with no problem at all.

also how deep is your rudder? a couple of inches below the prop is fine, you will pick up some speed just from shortening the rudder?

What cell count were you running? The rudder is 5" total I think it the longer speed master. And I'm thinking of ordering a x645 detounged. I'm also about building a twin cheeta
I would be real happy at 60mph

nice job I hope it will be worth your effort I would guess that the work you did might put the bow down a bit ! I can do any prop you want I had good luck with a X445 but that is on 5S

Mike Pags is right you only need 1-1/2 - 2" of rudder below the tips of the prop

I'm not totally sure it was worth any thing. Watch the videos, it ran 51.1 stock, now I'm back to 50.5. But for a few runs it was high 40s and I wasn't happy. I did close in the rear sponsons a little bit, I made them straight back and square. Before they tapered out just a hair at the transom. Maybe less drag? So I might try opening them a bit and see what it does. If nothing else this has been a learning experience.

this is the last test run after all the work the last set of pads are sanded fwd to aft with 400grit wet no temps above 83 on anything after a full 5min run non stop motor was the hottest. What do people use for Greese or oil on the flex? I'm using a super lube silicone Greese water proof
