    4 & 6 Pole Motors

Are there any 4 or 6 pole xl size motors under a hundred bucks? I am looking for something a little different for the up comming Vegas conversion.
    Thanks
    Tom

SJFE, I know you dont wanna use one for this build but are the KB motors 4 pole? I cant find anything that says no but with the wattage they can withstand thought they may be. If so I guess that is a correct answer but not one that will help... sorry

How about Medusa Research MR-036-060-1500V2-5 (L size can)

                It's a little more at 114.95. But at 95% efficiency 6s lipo x 60 amps=1200+ watts.
They are 4 pole motors with ABEC5 bearings good till 60,000rpm.

in the Rc MT world they have been very popular a good mid motor between Feigao and Neu ....thier design is similar to a Neu and they are coming out with a 70mm size and rumour has it a 80mm

Here is a motor that I am going to try out this Sunday in my 1/10 scale hydro. Always liked the idea of having the torque of a brushless outrunner but couldn't find the right kv's until now. Specs out close to the Ammo 36-56 1800kv motor I am currently running. The Scorpion is a 6 pole motor with strong magnets that cog like a Neu when you twist on the shaft. The big question will be heat, hopefully it won't get too hot despite it's claim to be able to take high heat to 350 degrees. A well built, torquey 6.8 oz motor

Im try to grasp the concept of how a brushless motor works. I know just like any electric motor you need to run elctricity through it. You also need magnets to turn the staft to create power. Maybe you could break the different parts down for me. I know they last longer and are more efficient then a brushed motor.

A brushless motor operates very similar to an 3 phase induction motor. When the motor is spinning the ESC is switching which wires the current is flowing through. The switching of the current causes the magnetic field to change which spins the motor.
