Just seen that OSE is selling the Zonda, but have a few questions, first off, are the silver stripes, decals, or painted on? 2nd, will the stock motor mounts installed, suit a 40mm motor can like TP or leopards? Thanks

I was looking at the artr, I really like the looks but is it to good to be true? Is the hull thick enough to last? What kind of conditions will it hold up to, and is it just a saw boat or all around joy ride? Another thing is if bought would everything be getting up graded anyways?Comment

I just bought one, havent had a chance to run her yet. But i was pleased with the quality of the boat. Plenty of you tube vids of Zondas running (and crashing). Its fairly wide so not just a SAW boat imo. I wouldnt upgrade untill something has broken. Comes with SSS motors 2075 Kv and two seaking 120a ESC's. I didnt even mount the stock props....Dasboata did a great job on a pair of x447's for me.Comment

I also have a few question about this boat and i think it's ok to ask them here?
Do the boat need to be reinforced/ glue or use Carbon fiber to the motor mount or the battery plate like we need on the other tfl boats with fiberglass?
Is the hull ticker vs smash shark or the genesis?Comment

Morning. I bought mines from Kintecracing.com. Jan told me that the version 2 is thicker carbonfiber. Not thin like the 1st version of Zonda catamaran. I would ask who you bought your Zonda from about what version it is. I would still recommend you strengthen hull. No telling what type of crash one might have.Last edited by rude5150; 03-18-2015, 08:11 AM.Comment

My second Zonda (V2) from Kintec appears to be thicker and or re-enforced.
Zonda's (Fantasm) are great on long, straight runs, not so great for turning at speed. The Motley Crew or other shorter, wider boats are better at turning, cornering with speed.Pete

Fellas,
The Zonda Hull is not durable for high speed runs unless you reinforce. I have 2 guys I run with that theirs have exploded when crashing, one crashed at 60+ mph ( ran through a wake on the way to doing a speed run )and came apart. The Motor mounts only had epoxy holding them with NO FIBER CLOTH and because of that my boy lost a motor because the lid came off and the mount popped loose. I have seen Version 1's and 2's and there is NOT MUCH DIFFERENCE with thickness. Best advice is to get an inlay and you will have a chance to survive crashes but if you don't, I give you 2 maybe 3 decent crashes before you will be replacing. Guys I run with are running Mid 80's up to 95mph with their Zonda's so we are Veteran's and I am not a rookie talking. Just saying, trying to save you some money and heart ache! Get an inlay , build it right the 1st time, and you will be okay!Lot Boyz Racing and Marine Team...Get Hype!

Thanks man, that is what I wanted to know, now, how difficult is it to do an in lay with all the motor mounts and ESC and batteries trays already in there from the factory? In fact, that's the reason why I am holding out because I don't like to tear them down for fear that I will damage it, would much rather just to get a bare hull in that case, just saying....Too many boats, not enough time...Comment
