    Stub shaft end play ?

Hi all while greasing the flex shaft and pushing it back in the strut i noticed a good 1/16'' + movement in all direction's or end play i make my own srtuts the blade 1/16'' brass sheet silver soldered to K&S brass tubing with one size smaller brass tube for the brass bushing . What amount of end play is exceptable ?What company's manufacture good quality struts for both 3/16'' and 1/8'' stub shafts ? Regards Andris Golts.

http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...=ros-spdss-001 The speedmaster struts have great quality and many options of size and (round or flat) on the bottom. I pretty much use these on all my boats with no issues.

Hi Andris. Speedmaster makes good stuff, but there's nothing wrong with what you've made. It actually might be less drag with the thinner brass stock. What part has worn? The bushing or the stuffing tube? Do you have any pictures. Thanks.
